I've Seen The Light

The title of this blog post refers to the first words I uttered after seeing Alabama 3, amazing words for a man whose biggest passion in life is for music and who prides himself on his so called knowledge of that subject.
The reason I mention Alabama 3 and I will mention them a lot on this blog I’m quite sure is when you start writing a blog your mind can often through the day think of what you are going to write in your next post but as I’m finding out it doesn’t often work out the way you plan.
I arrived home this evening with the idea of updating the blog with what I had been up to this weekend only for my aforementioned plans to disappear after noticing a book “Margrave of the Marshes-John Peel”, John Peel happens to be one of very few hero’s that I have and without his radio show my love of all music would not be born.
John Peel’s favourite song was “Teenage Kicks” by the Undertones which has one of the best lines ever (especially if approaching middle age)”Are teenage dreams so hard to beat” and this song has to be played loud, very loud.
I continued in a journey of loud music ending with Alabama 3 “Power in the blood” so that’s how I got from the events of the weekend to mentioning two of the best song’s ever.
I’ve posted a Alabama 3 clip from the gig in Melbourne only for the reason that I was there and I had told D Wayne Love to play the song the night before, did I mention the night before? Maybe next time.
